The Academic Technology
Center supports the development of multimedia instructional material
for a web-based educational environment. This is accomplished by providing
consultation, training, and production services and by providing ready
access to development tools and equipment. |
| Objectives: |
-To
provide ready access to a set of development tools that faculty
and staff can investigate, test and evaluate in order to gain familiarity
with the process.
-To
promote campus collaboration in web-based instructional development
by establishing a center that can act as a focal point for drawing
together individuals with related expertise.
-To
facilitate campus-wide instructional development by offering instructional,
consulting and production services to those wanting to develop courseware,
and by providing location and acquisition services for those wanting
to review material produced elsewhere.

The ATC works closely
with a variety of educational and technical experts throughout the
university, especially through its Mentors. |
| In addition to pursuing
further grant funding from local and national sources, the ATC is
interested in participating in the proposals of others. The ATC staff
welcome the opportunity to discuss project ideas and provide cost
estimates for the use of its services and equipment. Taking advantage
of the ATC's resources and experienced staff will generally result
in cost-savings and a project budget that is attractive to potential
funding sources. |
