About Online Computer Testing Labs

Facilities for computer-based testing are available in the Moody Medical Library's Online Testing Center and at the Learning Resource Center.
Proctors or coordinators for monitoring the exam are not provided.

The Moody Medical Library provides an Online Testing Center (OTC) for courses to offer computerized examinations. It is located on the second floor of the Library, and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis all the hours that the library is open.
The Online Testing Center provides 62 Dell computers, each with a 1 g processor, 128 mg memory, a 10 g hard drive, a read-only CD-ROM, 15-inch flat screen monitor, and headphones. Computers will be turned on and ready 15 minutes prior to an exam. Accommodations for larger groups can be made upon time of booking.

The OTC also provides access to a server to house the exam. Permission to load specific testing software must be approved through Don Brunder, Academic Computing at 409-772-8423 or email dbrunder@utmb.edu.

Cancellations must be received at least one day before the exam.

Learning Resource Center (LRC) - SON/SAHS Building

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) housed in the School of Alllied Health and School of Nursing building has three Computer Labs available.

All application and CAI software are accessible only through the LRC computer labs and are not available on a dial-up service. Unauthorized copying of software in the computer labs is prohibited. Unauthorized software will be removed by LRC staff.

Installation of software must be approved in advance and comply with the LRC Software Installation Guidelines. Faculty who wish to have software installed on LRC computers are asked to complete a Request for Software Installation form available at the LRC Front Desk.
