Real Player One is the latest upgrade for Windows Users.

Real Player 3 and higher will work with Mac OS7 , Mac OS8, & Mac OS9.

Below is a list of other Frequently Asked Questions and their answers.

How do I play the audio files?

To play these audio files, you need a program that knows how to play real media streaming audio files. You also need a web browser, and an Internet connection, but if you're seeing this page you must already have them. If you don't have a player already installed, you'll need to download real media player and install it. Once installed, you can click on the underlined audio link, and the audio will start playing.

Your browser must know that a player program is available to send the file to. This is normally taken care of during the installation of the player. If the browser has forgotten or been confused, reinstalling or updating the software will typically fix the problem.

Why the Real format?

We provided the audio links in Real format. While this is an effective audio format, it is proprietary and requires all users to download Real.com's RealPlayer to use.

  • These files are in Real Media (.rm or .ra) and therefore need the latest version of Real Player to play them. Real Player 5 and earlier versions of G2 are unlikely to support them.
  • Microsoft Windows Media Player is unlikely to work with them.

The file will download partially before playing. This will take 1 - 2 minutes. If you given a choice to 'play' or 'download', select 'play'. If you choose the '56k Instant play' option, the file will play almost immediately on a live stream.

  • Make a note of the folder to which you download Real Player G2, because you will then have to run the application from that location to install it. Again, make a note of the folder to which the program is then installed. It will most likely be:
    "C:/Program Files/Real/Real Player/"

  • You may have to tell your browser ('preferences/applications' in 'Netscape' and 'options' in MS Internet Explorer) where the program file can be found. It will probably be located at:
    "C:/Program Files/Real/Real Player/Realplay.exe"
However, if you run a search for "real play.exe" you should be able to find it.

  • Once you have downloaded the software and installed it, click on the track you would like to hear. The file will then download in full before you can hear it. This will take from between 30 seconds to a couple of minutes for short tracks, and for larger clips, it will take longer.
