Blocker History of Medicine Portrait Gallery

Welcome to the Online Portrait Gallery of the Moody Medical Library. The gallery contains a selection of 39 portraits, each with a brief description, from the Library's collection of 6,000 images relating to the history of the biomedical sciences. A variety of artistic media may be found in the online gallery, including engraving, lithography, and photography. These portraits illustrate physicians and scientists from Hippocrates to Marie and Pierre Curie. The Online Portrait Gallery is only a small sample of the types of illustrations contained in the Blocker History of Medicine Collections. We invite inquiries about pictures of other historical figures that may be of interest.
